Richarlison thought he had scored his first Premier League goal for Tottenham early in Saturday's Premier League game against Nottingham Forest.
The Brazilian smashed a powerful shot past Forest keeper Keylor Navas in the third minute after latching onto a long pass from Oliver Skipp.
It felt like a big moment for Richarlison, who had spoken out about his frustration at his lack of playing time following Wednesday's Champions League exit at the hands of AC Milan.
But his celebrations were put on hold as a VAR review was launched to check for a possible offside.
That review lasted almost three minutes before ruling that Richarlison's shoulder had been marginally offside when Skipp played the ball.
