Inter Milan are looking at Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee as a possible target in attack for this summer transfer window.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. The newspaper anticipate that Bologna want at least €70 million for the 22-year-old.

One area in which Inter want to intervene in the transfer market this summer is attack.

Mehdi Taremi is already arriving from Porto. The Iranian will effectively take the place of Alexis Sanchez in the Nerazzurri squad.

But Inter do not feel that that will be enough to sufficiently bolster the squad depth in attack.

Moreover, the Gazzetta anticipate, Inter are ready to spend big on a forward.

That is likely to be the position in which the club make the biggest investment.

Genoa forward Albert Gudmundsson is reportedly at the top of Inter’s list of targets in this regard.

The 26-year-old will cost around €30-35 million. Inter are ready to spend that amount, however, if they can raise cash through some smaller sales.

On the other hand, if Inter miss out on Gudmundsson – there is competition for the former AZ Alkmaar man’s signature – they have another target from within Serie A.

Inter Eyeing Up Bologna Striker Joshua Zirkzee

22-year-old former Bayern Munich striker Zirkzee has certainly been one of the outstanding young strikers in Serie A this season, if not all of Europe.

The Dutchman has scored twelve goals and made four assists in the league this campaign.

Moreover, Zirkzee’s combination of height and physicality with technical ability has provided a real reference point in attack in terms of holdup play.

The 22-year-old has been at the heart of Bologna’s surprise push for Champions League football.

And that means that the Rossoblu may not be able to hold on to their star striker.

However, the Gazzetta notes, Bologna would certainly want to cash in to the maximum extent if Zirkzee is to leave. The Emilian club have placed an ambitious valuation of €70 million on the striker.

AC Milan are keen on Zirkzee, the Gazzetta notes. The Rossoneri hope not to pay more than €50 million for the Dutchman.

However, Inter could also join their city rivals in the chase.

Obviously, the price tag would be a major stumbling block. However, the Gazzetta report, the Nerazzurri would be willing to invest in attack, should they bring in money from sales.
