Tottenham have had two successful transfer windows under Ange Postecoglou and have prepared themselves for another one with several targets already in mind.

Spurs are set to bolster multiple positions this summer with Fabrizio Romano revealing that a winger remains a top priority for the club.

Several players have been mentioned as potential targets, but Wolves’ Pedro Neto and Barcelona star Raphinha are two players who have been consistently linked with the move to North London.

Romano says Tottenham’s interest in Raphinha is concrete

During a recent interview on the Chris Cowlin Podcast on YouTube, Romano shed light on Tottenham’s potential interest in Raphinha.

Romano indicated that while Spurs’ interest in the Brazilian international is genuine, the feasibility of a transfer hinges on Barcelona’s financial state.

He emphasised the need for Spanish clubs to balance their books, particularly given their substantial investment in Raphinha’s acquisition in 2022.

He said:

“For Raphinha, it could be different. I think Tottenham’s interest is concrete, but it’s important to understand the financial situation at Barcelona by the end of April or beginning of May.

“This understanding will dictate how much profit they aim to make with their players, especially with Raphinha, considering they paid significant money to sign him from Leeds.

“Therefore, in terms of financial fair play, Barcelona must aim to make a profit if they intend to sell players. Raphinha is certainly appreciated at Tottenham, but before entering into concrete talks, Tottenham needs to understand Barcelona’s plan for this deal, which is currently unclear.”

Raphinha is currently under contract with the Blaugranas until June 30, 2027. He joined the club from Leeds United in the summer of 2022, signing a five-year deal for a substantial transfer fee of €58 million.

The 27-year-old was displaying promising form this season, contributing with a goal and four assists in his last five league outings before being sidelined by a muscle injury earlier this year in January.

In total, he has scored four goals and provided seven assists in 21 La Liga appearances.

The Lilywhites hold a positive view of Raphinha, having been impressed by his performances during his tenure in the English top flight at Elland Road.

Since Ange Postecoglou is the driving force behind the potential move, the club’s hierarchy could support him in signing Raphinha.
