Athletic Bilbao striker Sancet lands Spain call as De la Fuente says: Now's his chance

Athletic Bilbao striker Oihan Sancet is the big surprise from Spain coach Luis de la Fuente's latest squad call.

It marks a first senior selection for the young goalscorer.

De la Fuente, a former Athletic player, explained: "We try to get the most out of the conditions that each player has. Normally when they come they have a game development very similar to that of their clubs.

"Sancet is a footballer who gives us a lot of play between the lines in a wonderful way, he is strong for Athletic, he has arrival and interior play... he has fantastic potential that fits our model and style. It's his turn and he will have to show why we trust him.

"I'm sure he's not going to let us down."
