Predators trade Denis Gurianov to Flyers for Wade Allison

The Philadelphia Flyers have dealt Wade Allison to the Nashville Predators in exchange for Denis Gurianov

Gurianov has two points in 14 games this season with the Predators. The 26-year-old found himself in the American Hockey League (AHL) with the Milwaukee Admirals on a conditioning stint where he scored 12 goals and 30 points in 27 games. Gurianov is currently on a one-year deal with a cap hit of $850,000.

The Russian forward was an unrestricted free agent last summer after the Montreal Canadiens decided not to give him a qualifying offer when his one-year, $2.9 million contract came to an end. Gurianov had the least productive season of his NHL career in 2022-23, although he did see a slight improvement after being traded, as he had just two goals, seven assists, and nine points in 43 games with the Dallas Stars, and then had five goals, three assists, and eight points in 23 games with the Canadiens. However, his total of seven goals, 10 assists, and 17 points in 66 games is a career-low outside of his first two seasons, where he played a combined 22 games.

Gurianov played a big role with the Canadiens during their miracle run to the Stanley Cup Final in 2020-21 where he collected 17 points in 27 Stanley Cup Playoff contests.

Meanwhile, the Predators acquired Wade Allison. Allison has 17 points and 44 penalty minutes with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms in the AHL with the Flyers farm team. The 26-year-old appeared in 60 games last season with the Flyers where he scored nine goals and 15 points while adding 36 penalty minutes. In 75 career games with the Flyers, Allison has collected 13 goals and 22 points.
