NHL bets: Four props for Friday night

Yesterday didn't quite go according to plan, but on the bright side we have ourselves a fresh day to get back on track.

Fridays are sometimes funky in the NHL, so I'd recommend lowering your volume a bit or thinking outside the box on your favorite plays. I'm attacking the slate with a trio of prop plays, four looks in total.

Jacob Trouba over 2.5 SOG (+106 CZR)

Jacob Trouba will be facing a Vegas team tonight that has allowed the 12th-most shots to defensemen over the past 10 games, a positional trend that appears to be trending up.

In just the last two weeks, defensemen piling up big SOG games has become quite the regular occurernce against the Golden Knights, and I very much love Jacob Trouba joining in on the fun.

Trouba has gone over 2.5 shots in four straight at home, averaging 6.75 attempts/game in the process. He's loved seeing Vegas of late, finishing with shot totals of four, five and five in his past three meetings. Overall, Trouba has hit tonight's number in seven of 10 meetings with the Golden Knights.

Anze Kopitar & Teuvo Teravainen 1+ point each (+194 DK)

The Kings and Canes are likely my two favorite spots to look for some scoring tonight. Los Angeles finds themselves in an enviable position for goals thanks to the biggest power play edge of the day that I see coupled with Alex Lyon in net for Florida; Lyon has allowed 12 goals in his past two starts.

I like the way Anze Kopitar looks, the top-line center for the Kings who also skates on the top power play line. Kopitar has 10 points in his last 10 games, nine in his last 10 on the road and he's racked up 10 points in his past six meetings with the Panthers.

I'll pair with Teuvo Teravainen of Carolina who skates on the Hurricanes top line. James Reimer is in net for San Jose, and the struggling goalie has allowed 3+ goals in eight straight starts. Given how many shots the Canes typically get on net, this spells trouble for the Sharks.

Teravainen has seven points in his last nine games against San Jose, eight points in his past 10 overall and has registered a point in seven of his last nine at home.

.5u: Viktor Arvidsson over 2.5 SOG (-122 FD)

Viktor Arvidsson and the Kings head to Florida to take on a Panthers team that has struggled with penalties as we just mentioned, which tends to lead to more shots against them.

Over the past 10 games, it's Arvidsson pacing the Los Angeles power play with nine shots. He's maintained a very steady stream of volume here, and while his hit-rate is a bit up and down, I like him to deliver here against the Panthers, who are allowing the seventh-most shots to RWs this season.

Since joining the Kings, Arvidsson has seen Florida twice, racking up 10 shots on goal.
