It's a pretty magical time of year in hockey land, when NHL teams get into the spirit of the season by putting together fantastic holiday video parodies.
Holiday parodies are always an Internet hit, so it was no surprise that social media lit up when the Washington Capitals unleashed their version of "A Christmas Story."
Really, any reference to the 1983 cult classic is going to get buzz. But members of the Caps — who churn out pretty good videos every season — do this ode justice, with Braden Holtby proudly hoisting the infamous "leg lamp" and Nate Schmidt getting his mouth washed out with soap.
Of course, the real gem in this 1:35 clip is Alex Ovechkin dressed in a pink bunny onesie.

This year's parodies are following some serious "film gold" from last season. The Pittsburgh Penguins put together a chuckle-worthy "Christmas Vacation" parody, and the San Jose Sharks went viral with their original "Holiday Sweater" rap. The Sharks are currently churning out a multi-video installment that ties a lot of their old Christmas videos together.
It certainly is the holiday season!
