Avalanche forward Andre Burakovsky 'a possibility' for Game 6 of Stanley Cup Final

The Colorado Avalanche failed to close out the Stanley Cup Final on Friday. Instead, the Tampa Bay Lightning stayed alive after winning Game 5, 3-2.

Colorado still needs only one victory to hoist the Cup, but they're also another loss away from a deciding Game 7 at home. With momentum turned the Lightning's way heading into Game 6, the Avalanche may receive a much-needed boost with the return of forward Andre Burakovsky.

On Saturday, Colorado coach Jared Bednar said Burakovsky is still considered day-to-day, but the team is optimistic about his chances of playing.

"I think he's a possibility for us, he's traveling with us," Bednar said. "So, he may be in the lineup."

Burakovsky has missed the last three games since exiting Game 2 with a hand injury from blocking a shot.

The 27-year-old has three goals and five assists in 13 playoff games for the Avalanche.

Burakovsky scored the overtime winner in Game 1, adding another goal in the Avalanche's 7-0 thrashing of the Lightning in Game 2.
