The Bengals are preparing for a new look at right tackle this coming season, and one of the candidates is free agent lineman Cody Ford.
Zac Taylor dove into his outlook for the 2023 signee this week, confirming he will play right tackle before a move to guard gets decided.
"He'll come compete at right tackle," Taylor said about Ford. "So his first spot for us will be right tackle, but he's got the flexibility to play guard as well. So it's good to have linemen that can come in and compete at different positions for you."
Ford posted pretty poor numbers in 2022. He finished with a 41.2 overall grade on PFF (46 pass blocking, 39 run blocking). That ranked 74th out of 77 qualified guards.
He played 318 snaps at left guard and 32 at right tackle.
