Titans place safety Kevin Byard on COVID-19 list

The final Monday of November was brutal for the NFL as it pertains to the coronavirus, as the Cleveland Browns, Pittsburgh Steelers and Minnesota Vikings were among clubs that added players to the reserve/COVID-19 list.

The Tennessee Titans couldn't avoid a similar issue at the start of their bye week.

Per Ben Arthur of the Nashville Tennessean, the Titans have placed star safety Kevin Byard on the reserve/COVID-19 list. ESPN's Adam Schefter previously reported all nine players who landed on that list on Monday tested positive for the virus.

According to Arthur, Byard is fully vaccinated against COVID-19, which means he can return to team activities if he produces two negative virus tests at least 24 hours apart and remains asymptomatic. Byard should be on track to play against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Dec. 12 as long as he encounters no harsh setbacks caused by the coronavirus.

Thus far this season, Byard has recorded 64 total tackles, five interceptions, one pick-six, 12 pass breakups, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. He joins Titans backup quarterback Logan Woodside and practice squad tight end Austin Fort on the reserve/COVID-19 list.

Tennessee fell to 8-4 on the season via Sunday's loss to the New England Patriots.
