Should Ravens target this Pro Bowl CB?

Should Ravens target recently released Pro Bowl CB?

The Ravens are still in need of a cornerback to pair with CB Marlon Humphrey in their secondary. Could their answer just have been released?

The Falcons released veteran CB Casey Hayward Jr. last week and he could be what Baltimore needs.

Signing Hayward Jr. to a cheap, one-year deal won't stop the Ravens from adding to the room through the draft either.

Baltimore would be taking a risk by heading into the 2023 NFL Draft with a clear hole in its roster and asking a rookie to come in and start from day one can be a recipe for disaster.

Hayward Jr. is 33 and played in just six games in 2022. However, he has been a reliable player over his 11-year career, totaling 449 tackles, 25 interceptions and 113 passes defensed. Hayward Jr., who is a two-time Pro Bowler, led the league in interceptions (2016) as well.

Plus, what better place to end his career than in Baltimore, which has boasted one of the league's best secondaries for some time?

The team could still re-sign free-agent CB Marcus Peters, but it feels as though that would have happened by now if both sides wanted to reunite.

Hayward Jr. would provide the Ravens with veteran leadership and more flexibility heading into the draft. So, why not?
