Safety Landon Collins to have Achilles surgery Monday
Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

Washington safety Landon Collins is scheduled to have surgery on his injured Achilles, according to NFL insider Josina Anderson.

Collins suffered the non-contact injury in the second quarter of Sunday’s win over the Dallas Cowboys. He was assisted off the field before he was carted off the sidelines to the locker room.

After the game, Collins told Anderson he suffered an Achilles injury, saying “I can’t feel my foot.”

Rookie Kamren Curl replaced Collins in the game at strong safety. Washington is on a bye this week, giving the team more time to address Collins’ impending absence. He is expected to miss the remainder of the season.

Collins is in the second year of a six-year, $84 million deal he signed with Washington in 2019. He had 41 tackles, two sacks, one interception and a force fumble in seven games this season.
