Report: Rose Bowl theft suspects were allegedly recruits visiting UCLA
Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

There's new information leaked in the Rose Bowl theft case. The suspects were allegedly recruits visiting UCLA for the game against Colorado, according to a report by Jason Brown on The Coach JB with Smitty Show.

Colorado alum Matt McChesney, who's a co-host of the show, asked Brown if he knew details about the situation. The coach went into detail about two players from Beaumont High School who were arrested last Friday in connection to the Rose Bowl heist. He said the information was shared with him by the player's coach.

Brown starred in two seasons of the Netflix's smash hit 'Last Chance U'. The outspoken coach of Independence Community College worked to give players a second chance in the unlikely setting of rural Kansas.

Pasadena Police confirmed the suspects were juveniles, and their names were being kept private at this time. The department said in a previous statement that a few items belonging to Colorado Buffaloes football players and staff that were stolen out of the locker room at the Rose Bowl have been returned. They also noted that they'll continue to investigate the robbery that occurred nearly two weeks ago.

“Search warrants were executed, and additional information will be provided soon as the investigation progresses," Pasadena Police said.

At least three Colorado players, including Derrick McLendon, Cam'Ron Silmon-Craig, and Jordan Domineck, had jewelry taken from their lockers during the game. Some others had Beats by Dre headphones and cash stolen from them.

"The Pasadena Police Department would like to thank those who reported leads to our tip line. The information and support are invaluable and play a crucial role in helping us ensure safety and security in our community. Our detectives worked diligently to follow up on all leads, which resulted in the quick execution of search warrants. The investigation will be ongoing. More information will follow as available."

Colorado hosts Arizona for Senior Day on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. ET on the Pac-12 Network.
