Raiders Under Contract: QB Anthony Brown
USA TODAY Sports

Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Anthony Brown is one of the least experienced members of the club's reserve/future contract signees from last month.

Brown has played in just two regular season NFL games, including one start. That start was for the Baltimore Ravens in their final game of the 2022 regular season when he threw for 286 yards against the Cincinnati Bengals.

The 25-year-old quarterback was signed by Baltimore as an undrafted free agent in 2022. He had spent two seasons at Oregon, where he started in all 14 games in his final collegiate season. Brown threw for 2,989 yards and 18 touchdowns and ran for 151 yards and nine touchdowns in that season.

Prior to Oregon, Brown spent three years (two active seasons) at Boston College.

Brown was on and off the active roster throughout his season with the Ravens. He would play in all three of Baltimore's 2023 preseason games, recording 218 passing yards, two passing touchdowns, two interceptions, and 93 rushing yards on 14 attempts.

The Ravens released Brown back in September.

Brown is on a one-year, $915,000 contract. It's unlikely he has a significant role with the Raiders going forward, but he could be a good asset to have in the quarterback room.

As of now, Brown is the most mobile quarterback on Las Vegas' roster. Perhaps the Raiders could use him the way they used former quarterback Marcus Mariota in the 2021 season and send him in on occasion to run off of direct snaps in goal-line or short yardage situations.

Whether or not Brown makes the 53-man roster will largely depend on what the Raiders choose to do at the quarterback position this offseason.

From February 27 to March 4, 2024, the NFL Scouting Combine will be held at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Ind.

The NFL Draft will be held in Detroit, Mich., on April 25-27, 2024. The Las Vegas Raiders currently hold the No. 13 overall pick.
