Raiders Sign Guard Cody Whitehair
Jamie Sabau-USA TODAY Sports

Cody Whitehair, 31,  has agreed to a one-year contract with the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday. Whitehair will fill in a void that is missing at right guard. He has played in 124 games with 118 starts, has started 61 games at center and 54 games at left guard. But the Raiders feels like he’ll be able to adjust due to a familiar face.

Newly hired offensive coordinator Luke Getsy will bring a familiar system for Whitehair, as he earned pro bowl honors in 2018 with the Chicago Bears under his scheme. With only three games at left guard in his eight-year career, he has played fifty four games there. So the adjustment wont be too steep for Whitehair.

Looking to free up cap space, the Bears released Whitehair on February fifth. Adding a proven veteran to the line will help strengthen an offensive line that’s looking to establish themselves as going into summer camp.
