NFL Draft expert believes Steelers landed three first-rounders

Many regard the Steelers' 2023 NFL Draft class as one of the best in the league and one draft expert helps support the theory even more.

In NFL analyst Daniel Jeremiah's final mock draft, which also predicted the Texans to trade up to pick No. 3 to select Will Anderson, he had three players that Pittsburgh drafted go in the first round.

The first player he had going in round one was offensive tackle Broderick Jones to the Steelers. He didn't have Pittsburgh trading up from pick No. 17 to 14 but he still hit the nail on the head.

The next player Jeremiah believed should have gone in the first round was CB Joey Porter Jr. He mocked Porter Jr. to the Jaguars at pick No. 24, but he instead fell to the second round and right into the laps of the Steelers at pick No. 32.

"I wouldn't be surprised if the Jaguars drafted an offensive lineman here, but with Porter sliding down, he's too good to pass up," Jeremiah writes.

Porter Jr. isn't just a feel-good story as he will now play for his dad's old team, but he may turn out to be the steal of the draft as well.

The final player Pittsburgh drafted that Jeremiah thought would go on night one was defensive tackle Keeanu Benton, who he had the Bengals taking at pick No. 28. The Steelers landed Benton with their second second-round pick at No. 49.

Pittsburgh not only addressed its biggest needs, but the team also found great value at each of its selections. Only time will tell how good the Steelers' draft is, but for now, the future is looking bright in Pittsburgh.
