The Dallas Cowboys may very well be in the conversation as one of the NFL's most talented teams, but even with one of the league's best all-around rosters and top-tier playmakers on both sides of the ball, there are still questions to be answered. That's part of why the team opted to bring in free-agent All-Pro linebacker Shaq Leonard after his release from the Indianapolis Colts.
After hearing Jerry Jones talk about the meeting, it was apparent that the Cowboys owner isn't lacking confidence about the situation or the team's overall appeal to potential free agents. Jones also appears to be a fan of Leonard, stating that it "isn't a hard scouting job" while also confidently saying the team has a "pretty attractive situation for any player," according to The Athletic's Jon Machota.

“He’s been (an) outstanding (player). We want to check his health. That’s what he’s doing right now. … This isn’t a hard scouting job. … We have a pretty attractive situation…
While it's a confident approach from Jones, he's also not wrong. Even though the Cowboys sit with an 8-3 record and find themselves two games behind the Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas is playing arguably its best football of the year. It doesn't mean Leonard will opt to sign with the Cowboys over, say, the rival Philadelphia Eagles, who he's reportedly meeting with as well.
Dallas is hoping to bolster its linebacker corps following an injury to Leighton Vander Esch. Still, it appears Leonard left Tuesday's meeting without signing a contract, so it'll be interesting to see how his free agency pans out.
