Former Steeler, current Raven is looking for revenge in 2023

It's not often that a player plays for both the Steelers and Ravens in their career given the historic rivalry between the two teams. But a veteran jumped sides this offseason and he's looking for revenge in 2023.

In July, Baltimore signed CB Arthur Maulet, whose time in Pittsburgh ended abruptly after a solid two-year run (2021-22) where he had 106 tackles, two sacks, two forced fumbles and one interception. He requested and was granted his release from the Steelers in May.

"I'm a vet, year No. 7," Maulet said. "I just wanted a little something, a little security. I think I earned that. Baltimore gave me that, which was surprising that it was a rivalry team. Obviously, they believe in me. That just makes me feel good about the work I put in this offseason."

Maulet had one year left on his deal when he asked for his release in Pittsburgh. The Steelers opted to grant his request after signing veteran CB Patrick Peterson and drafting corners Joey Porter Jr. and Cory Trice Jr. this offseason.

It's safe to say it rubbed Maulet the wrong way.

"Being too loyal will leave a sour taste in ya mouth with this game. You gotta get what you can out these m** because they don't have no loyalty in this business! My work always speaks for itself, my grind always speaks for itself," Maulet posted on social media. "They pay who they wanna pay and slave who they wanna slave. S*** weird. S*** ain't football. S*** a popularity contest."

If the Steelers vs. Ravens rivalry needed any more intensity, it just got some.

"It's circled on my calendar for sure," Maulet added.

The two teams will face each other in Weeks 5 and 18 this season.
