Bills reveal first renderings of new stadium design

Along with the renderings, the Bills write: 

"The Bills, in conjunction with Legends and stadium architectural firm Populousleft no stone unturned in covering every innovative element of new stadium design.The exterior stadium image highlights the team's desire for a visual identity that reflects some of the historical architecture of Buffalo, while also delivering a modern appearance."

The Bills have played at Highmark Stadium (previously Rich Stadium and Ralph Wilson Field) since the start of the 1973 season. It is one of the oldest venues in the NFL at the current time. 

While a large number of seats are covered by a canopy, the playing field is open to the elements. So no retractable roof. The stadium is expected to cost around $1.4 billion with a combination of private and public funds. The stadium will use around $850 million in public money.
