Spurs' Trades 'Smart' for San Antonio
USA TODAY Sports

1. SPURS ARE SMART "The Spurs made a lot of smart moves this offseason, using their cap space to take on vets like Reggie Bullock, Cedi Osman and Cam Payne while collecting draft picks," Bleacher Report writes.

2. VASSELL'S LEAP "Vassell has made a significant leap each of the past two seasons, and he just might continue that pattern in the upcoming campaign," Bleacher Report writes. "Shots could be harder to come by in this now Wembanyama-centric attack, but maybe that merely boosts Vassell's efficiency. This past season, he put up 18.5 points on 43.9/38.7/78 shooting with 3.6 assists against 1.5 turnovers."

3. POP'S GLORY "Off he went, out of the restaurant and back to whence he came. Holding a bag of food. Holding the keys back to glory for the Spurs. Holding the keys to the indescribable mood this city is in when the basketball team is good."

4. SHAWN BRADLEY > VIC?!?! "He hopes to be better than Shawn Bradley in my opinion. I'm serious," Polynice said on Fox Sports Radio. "I'm not even putting him in the Yao Ming category right now... Guy like that they're over 7-5 and just shot blockers. He's going to try to do all the stuff he was doing overseas. It's going to be very difficult for him to do in the NBA."

5. JULIAN CHAMPAGNIE = KENRICH WILLIAMS? Bleacher Report compared Champagnie to a "high-end Kenrich Williams." This is high praise, as Williams is a swiss-army knife that contributes to winning at a high level."
