Los Angeles Lakers Fans Go After Darvin Ham With Wild Gesture Amid Game 3 Debacle vs Nuggets
Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

The Los Angeles Lakers are still alive in the 2024 NBA Playoffs, but fans can start writing their recap of the Purple & Gold’s season. After losing to the Denver Nuggets again in Game 3 at home, 112-105, the Lakers’ season is virtually over as no team in the history of the NBA has ever won a series after losing the first three legs.

Lakers fans are understandably upset, and they made sure to make LA head coach Darvin Ham feel their wrath when some of them chanted “Fire Darvin” after Game 3, per Jovan Buha of The Athletic.

Should the Los Angeles Lakers Keep Darvin Ham for at Least Another Season?

It might not be the right time for such a discussion, but it can’t be denied that a lot of Lakers fans are not happy with how things have gone for the team under Ham. Another sweep at the hands of the Nuggets could force the hand of the Lakers management to end Ham’s tenure as Los Angeles’ head coach.

But again, the Lakers, no matter how slim their chances now of escaping the first round, have at least one more game to play. As long as they are still in contention, the Lakers would rather think about Ham’s future some other day.

After the Lakers’ loss in Game 3, Ham shared a thought on why it’s been so tough for his team to find a solution to their Denver problems.

“They have a championship confidence,” Darvin Ham said after Game 3 about Denver, per the Associated Press (h/t ESPN). “That starting group has been together for a long time. Their net rating is off the charts as a starting group. They had guys step up and make plays.”

Ham was also describing what the Lakers organization and its fans would have loved Los Angeles to transform into under his coaching.
