Louisville vs. North Carolina: The Tar Heels are up to 30 wins in Megan Smith Lyon's first season as the head coach after taking two of three from the Cardinals. Louisville won the first game of the series 2-1, with the runs coming from Riley Frizell and Maddi Grant solo home runs. Louisville pitcher Alyssa Zabala pitched a complete game giving up only an earned run and two hits. UNC's only run came from a Carlie Myrtle homer in the seventh inning. In Game 2, the Tar Heels scored five runs in the sixth inning to win 9-1 and run-rule the Cardinals. UNC pitcher Talia Hannappel struck out three while giving up one run and two hits through six innings. Autumn Owen went 3-4 with 3 RBI and a run scored. North Carolina trailed 6-2 heading into the bottom of the seventh in Game 3, and then scored five runs with Destiny Middelton's RBI single walking it off for the Tar Heels. Middleton was one of three UNC players to have three hits in the game, along with Abby Settlemyre and Carsyn Snead.
