Shedeur Sanders has a cocky reply to ex-teammate Xavier Smith throwing shade at Deion Sanders
Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

For Deion Sanders, the only thing on his mind is about the upcoming college football season. Wanting to build on whatever little success the Colorado Buffaloes had, the upcoming season will show how good of a Coach Prime really is. However, it seems he has some noise surrounding his methods at the moment, prompting his son Shedeur Sanders to reply to that coming from former teammate Xavier Smith.

He posted a not-so-subtle message on his official X (formerly Twitter) account shortly after the Athletic ran an article featuring Smith.

Ion even remember him tbh. Bro had to be very mid at best. Shedeur Sanders wrote on X

Essentially, the star quarterback suggested that Xavier Smith‘s allegations against his father are not valid. His father must have had a good enough reason to push Smith out of Colorado.

Shedeur Sanders suggests that Smith might not have been good enough to continue playing for the Colorado Buffaloes. Hence, his father, Deion Sanders, advised him to pursue the transfer portal. When he did not, Prime set him aside, only for him to lose his confidence and eventually transfer to Austin Peay State University.

Xavier Smith’s revelations have caused quite a stir in the sporting world. One of the greatest players to grace the game of football wanted his players to be the best. Naturally, some had to leave as his demands for excellence meant they were expendable. But it has also worked inversely for the University.

Shedeur Sanders looking forward to a better season in Colorado

The most important task Deion Sanders and his team had once the college football season got over was to recruit top level players to their team. Many players have entered the transfer portal and joined the Colorado Buffaloes. Coach Prime has also managed to recruit top ranked recruits to join his team.

Therefore, the notion is that the Buffs could make a big leap in their season record in the coming year. Shedeur Sanders will be most interested in the upgrades at the offensive line. After becoming the most sacked QB in the entire nation, he would love to be able to stay upright and throw the ball to his receivers.

Then only his father could guide their team to a better record. The team is poised to rise the standings, even if others will call them out for their unconventional ways.
